The Opportunity

We're looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join as our 5th team member and own the delivery of critical web applications. This is a hands-on role where you'll build tools that directly impact adviser productivity, operational efficiency, and client experience. You'll work on everything from trading platforms to client presentation tools, with full ownership from concept to production.

This isn't about maintaining legacy systems - you'll be building greenfield applications that enable our growth strategy.

What You'll Do

• Design, build and deploy full-stack web applications using React, Typescript, and AWS
• Own multiple projects simultaneously, from initial requirements through to production deployment
• Work directly with advisers and operations teams to understand needs and deliver solutions
• Build responsive, intuitive frontends that non-technical users love
• Develop robust APIs and backend services integrated with our internal and 3rd party systems
• Deploy containerized applications on AWS EKS with robust CI/CD pipelines
• Build real-time features using WebSockets and event-driven architecture
• Balance "perfect" with "shipped" - knowing when good enough is exactly right
• Contribute to technical decisions as we scale

Essential Requirements

• 3+ years commercial experience building production web applications
• Strong React skills (hooks, modern patterns)
• Strong TypeScript across the full stack (Node.js/Express backend, React frontend)
• AWS experience (EKS, RDS, SES); familiarity with Azure AD/SSO a plus
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code
• Solid SQL skills; experience with an ORM (Prisma preferred) and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Experience translating vague business requirements into working software
• Comfortable owning features end-to-end from design through deployment
• Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-Have

• Financial services or wealth management background
• Monorepo experience (pnpm workspaces)
• Real-time systems (Socket.IO, Redis pub/sub)
• Background job processing (BullMQ or similar)
• Tailwind CSS
• Familiarity with Vite/Vitest
• Tableau or BI tool integration
• dbt, Dagster, or modern data stack tools
