New Role – Compliance Analyst (Enhanced Due Diligence)

Role Overview:
As a Compliance Analyst in the 2nd line compliance team, reporting to the EDD Manager through the Team Lead, your primary function is to support the 2nd line in protecting the company from money laundering risks and assisting the 1st line KYC with escalations and enhanced due diligence by providing AML guidance and advice. The 2nd line compliance team is responsible for the delivery and enhancement of the broader compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence on prospective and existing clients, particularly those with complex structures, Funds, SPVs, and Holding Companies within the Alternative Investment market.
- Serve as an escalation point for problem-solving within the Compliance team, 1st Line KYC team, and client-facing teams.
- Conduct initial reviews of Adverse Media, PEPs, and State-Owned Entity Escalations from the 1st Line KYC and Screening Teams.
- Execute risk event-driven reviews for the Risk Committee as necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on investigation findings, presenting clear and actionable insights to management.
- Identify suspicious activities and follow procedures to report them as required.
- Assist in producing Management Information (MI) around various client profiles and Compliance verticals.
- Support the development of new systems for efficiency.
- Aid in the delivery of compliance projects and objectives, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach.
- Contribute to the delivery of compliance training for new department members.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead and Manager to identify significant compliance issues.
- Help update policies and draft procedures.
- Master various compliance platforms and systems to streamline department workflow.

- Exposure to key Sanctions concepts.
- Ability to navigate high-pressure environments.

- Capable of managing multiple workflow streams and supporting team members.
- Proactive, pragmatic, self-starter with the ability to act independently across compliance disciplines and business areas.
- Experience in client-facing scenarios.
- Familiarity with the alternative investment market and its legal structures.
- Effective problem-solver, able to simplify and execute complex situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting findings clearly and concisely.
- Professional certifications (or in progress) such as ACAMS, ICA, or similar are highly desirable.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
